it was 1 am in the morning,
i stepped into my pitch black room,
no sound was heard,
not even the rustle of the wind through the window,
or even the dripping of the rain that had just stopped.

It was just me, and me alone.

I turned on the light.
My heart began to feel lighter,
at eased as i can see,
the once pitched black room.
I stepped in to changed into my shorts,
after celebrating the 19 years
of my sister living on this earth

suddenly,
i heard something,
near the window.
I paused for the moment,
My eyes staring at the window,
my heartbeat began to race.
I could see something ,
something moving,
then it ran upon seeing me..
I screamed
and raced downstairs,
ITS A RAT!!!!!!

Daddy quickly took the wooden baseball stick,
going into my room as if he is going to war.
my brothers and sister ran up to see the commosion,
"daddy, don't kill it!"
with fear drawn across our faces,
fearing that a rat could end up dead in our room.

Dad closed the door,
we waited outside for the result,
we whispered ,
so that we won't frightened mickey mouse (thats what we called it)
we waited and waited..
and we heard sounds of beating and thrusting the wood onto the floor.

Dad came out at last,
"did you catch it?"
"No"
"I think it ran under the bed"
???!!!!
the curious children of daddy went into the room,
hoping to take a glimpse of mickey.

We looked and looked,..
suddenly,
behind the cupboard,
shawn said,"its the rat!"
mickey was standing on its two little toes,
trying not to make a single noise.
we called DADDY..
and the catch begin.....

Mickey ran across the room,
and ended up stuck between the cupboard,
dad took the opportunity to hit it with a broom..
"awwhhhhh!"
"daddy don't hit it so hard" , we cried.
then it became weak and dad took it out from the tight space.

It is still breathing.
Dad swept it into a plastic bag
and Mickey was thrown into the bin.

and here is the end of the RAT that created havoc in our house in the beginning of 2009...dead. *)
